Matariki 2022
'Ngā mihi o Matariki, te tau hou Māori - Happy Matariki! To celebrate our newest Public Holiday, the children enjoyed a range of activities, including Kite Making, Weaving and Poi making. Special thanks to Te Puna Manaakitanga, our school Whanau support group, who spent time with each class helping the children create their own Taonga - a lasting piece to commemorate this special occasion.

Mt Carmel Hangi
What a fantastic experience for our students. This is only the second ever hangi at our school and it was a great success.
Our children were very excited, they enjoyed seeing the hangi being lifted and sampling the delicious food (chicken, pork, potatoes, stuffing, kumara, pumpkin, salad and rewena).
This event was a massive undertaking for Te Puna Manaakitanga. The preparation was huge which included preparing the vegetables, digging the hole and starting the cooking process at 5am in the morning! Our thanks to all the mums, dads, grandparents and children of Te Puna who worked so hard to make this all happen.
