Curriculum
At Mt Carmel School you can expect your child to be well taught and well looked after. The Mission Statement and Charter Goals commit us to fostering a caring school environment where we strive to realise the potential of every student.
Curriculum Programmes will be based on the New Zealand Curriculum 2007.
Eight Learning Areas will be covered:

- Mathematics
- Science

- Social Studies
- Health and Physical Education
- The Arts
- Technology
The Key Competencies will be used and developed across the range of Learning Areas:

Students are also given the opportunity to participate in Information Communication Technology, Swimming Lessons, Sports Teams, School Liturgies and Reading Recovery/Special Needs tutoring if needed. A wide variety of events are held regularly at Mt Carmel School although not all on an annual basis, e.g. visiting entertainers, Sports Day, School Concert, Disco, Open Classroom Day, Assemblies, School Masses, etc.
At Mt Carmel we promote a Growth Mindset with students and teachers as part of the Learning Strategies.
