Cross Country 2021
A wonderful day was had for the annual School Cross Country. After missing out last year due to Covid, it was great to see the children participating and putting so much effort into their running. Well done to all our runners!
Pyjama Day 2021
Pyjama Day at Mt Carmel was a huge success and so much fun for the children and teachers. 134 pairs of pyjamas and $141 gold coins will be donated to the Middlemore Foundation. Every year they give pyjamas to thousands of children in need across South Auckland. Thank you for all your generous donations.
Pink Shirt Day 2021
Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day aims to create schools, workplaces and communities where all people feel safe, valued and respected. The day ended with yummy pink donuts which was organised by the PTA. The gold coin donation will go towards the Mental Health Foundation.
Mt Carmel Hangi
What a fantastic experience for our students. This is only the second ever hangi at our school and it was a great success. Our children were very excited, they enjoyed seeing the hangi being lifted and sampling the delicious food (chicken, pork, potatoes, stuffing, kumara, pumpkin, salad and rewena). Year 6 Trip to MERC
Our Year 6 students recently enjoyed their visit to MERC, The Sir Peter Blake Marine Education and Recreation Centre, at Long Bay. This day is always a highlight for our Year 6 students and helps develop confidence and team building skills.
Library Re-opens in New Home
Our library has a new home! Much planning and purchasing has gone into this move to the ‘Kotare’ room. Mrs Williamson has done a fantastic job and it is all looking fabulous. We are very fortunate to have this space and our dedicated librarian working hard behind the scenes to make everything function beautifully.
Year 6 vs Teacher Netball
Our annual Teacher vs Year 6 netball game was a highlight of the last few days of the 2020 school year, and a win for the teachers!
Year 6 “Day in the City”
