We had a fantastic turn out this week at a Special Mass celebrating Grandparents and important older family members/friends. After mass, the children invited their Grandparents/family to look around their classes, and have a cup of tea in the hall. It was wonderful seeing the interaction between the children and the special people in your lives.
Over the past couple of weeks selected students from Yr 3-6 competed in the Catholic Schools Cross Country and the Remuera Zone Cross Country. Well done to all our runners.

Pukeko class visited Oceania Retirement Village. They sang five songs, including our school song Ka Waiata and the Irish Blessing. The children also gave gifts of plants to the residents and letters that had been written by some of our Year 2 and 3 children. The following week residents from Oceania came to visit Mt Carmel and the Art show. They came back with letters for our year 2 / 3 students who has written to them. Everyone really enjoyed the visit and the visitors loved looking at our school art on display in the hall.
This was a lovely connection to make, and we look forward r to welcoming these members of our local community back to our school soon
The PTA Danceathon was a huge success! The children had a great evening dancing and raised a fantastic amount of money that will go towards some exciting projects we have in the pipeline. Thank you to all the helpers on the night, everyone's efforts to gain sponsorship, and of course the PTA for organising a very memorable evening.
