Library Re-opens in New Home

Our library has a new home!  Much planning and purchasing has gone into this move to the 'Kotare' room.  Mrs Williamson has done a fantastic job and it is all looking fabulous.  We are very fortunate to have this space and our dedicated librarian working hard behind the scenes to make everything function beautifully.

Fairy Houses for our Enchanted Garden

At the end of last term we invited our senior students to build a Fairy House for our Enchanted Garden.  The suggestions were that the houses were to be made primarily from wood, weather proof and constructed at home with the help of parents and family.  Take a look at their fabulous creations...

Mairangi Bay Trip 2020

Our Year 4 and 5 students each spent a day at Mairangi Bay Surf Lifesaving Club learning about Surf Safety with the lifeguards there. The students had lots of fun 'saving' each other using rescue tubes and on the boogie boards.

Top Schools 2020

We entered four teams into the annual 'Top Schools' Competition hosted by the Rotary Club and held at Churchill Park School.  The children had lots of fun taking part in all the events - and one of our Year 3/4 teams came first in their age group!  Our congratulations to them and to all children who took part in the events for their determination and efforts.  Thanks to our Team Managers and to all parents who helped out where they could, making this a successful and enjoyable day for the 'Eastern Bays' children.

Pukeko – Chinese New Year

As part of our topic on Festivals and Celebrations, Pukeko Class had their own Chinese New Year celebration on Friday. The children practised cutting skills by making lanterns to decorate the classroom. They had a go at using chopsticks to eat noodles and they even made a dragon so they could do some dragon dancing. We had great fun!

Magic School Bus Video is here!

It is our pleasure to present the video of our Middle School production - "The Magic School Bus Visits the Pacific".  Our thanks to Ollie Dale (virtuallyfamous.co.nz) and Michael Frogley (daveclarkdesign.com) for their recording, editing, design and production of the video.

Eccentric teacher Ms Frizzle once again takes her class on an adventure in the Magic School Bus.  As they journey on their exciting trip, they discover legends, songs & dances of the Pacific nations along the way.

Book Character Dress Up Day

In term two we celebrated the end of Book Week with a very colourful and imaginative Book Character Dress Up Day.  There were some very diverse choices .. from Sir Edmund Hillary to Yoda and everything in between!  Take a look at the photos and see for yourself....

Stardome Visit

Tieing in with our current topic 'God's Incredible Design' with last term's focus Looking to the Stars and this term's  Matariki: Kite Making, the whole school have visited (or will be visiting) the Stardome Observatory.  The children looked at the Sun, Moon, Stars and Constellations as well as where Matariki is in the sky.  Students also enjoyed a quiz and a special video presentation in the Stardome comfy chairs.
