2024 Y5 Mairangi Bay Volunteer
Year 5 children will be learning about Beach Education during Term 1. They will be visiting Mairangi Bay on the North Shore as part of this learning on Thursday 15th February.
The students will learn about beach and sun safety, plus water activities. We are fortunate enough to have trained Surf Lifeguards leading the sessions, we do however, need parental help with supervision. Please be aware you will be going into the water with the children. Volunteers will need to make their own way there and back.
The children will be travelling by bus to and from Mairangi Bay and the bus will leave school at 8.15am and depart Mairangi Bay at approximately 2.30pm. We ask that you make arrangements for your child to be at school by 8.00am to ensure we are able to leave at 8.15am. As children may not be back at school until 3.15pm-3.30pm, could you please make arrangements that are necessary to accommodate this.
Children may wear their PE uniform on this day and will need to bring: togs, 2 towels, sunhat, sunscreen, a plastic bag to put wet gear in, jacket, a warm tracksuit (in case it gets cold), morning tea, lunch and 2 water bottles.
