2022 Y5 Mairangi Bay Volunteer
SUBMISSIONS NOW CLOSED - WE HAVE THE REQUIRED VOLUNTEERS. THANK YOU
Year 5 children will be learning about Beach Education during Term 1. They will be visiting Mairangi Bay on the North Shore as part of this learning on Wednesday 16th February.
The students will learn about beach and sun safety, plus water activities. We are fortunate enough to have trained Surf Lifeguards leading the sessions, we do however, need parental help with supervision. Please be aware you will be going into the water with the children.
In compliance with the MOE and MOH guidelines, parent helpers need to please be vaccinated and show their vaccine passport to the office before 16th February. All children will also be expected to wear a mask on the bus to and from Mairangi Bay.
The children will be travelling by bus to and from Mairangi Bay and the bus will leave school at 8.30am and depart Mairangi Bay at approximately 2.30pm. We ask that you make arrangements for your child to be at school by 8.15am to ensure we are able to leave at 8.30am. As children may not be back at school until 3.15pm-3.30pm, could you please make arrangements that are necessary to accommodate this.
Due to the number of children on the bus, some parents may need to carpool on the day to get to Mairangi Bay.
Children may wear their PE uniform on this day and will need to bring: togs, 2 towels, sunhat, sunscreen, a plastic bag to put wet gear in, jacket, a warm tracksuit (in case it gets cold), morning tea, lunch and 2 water bottles.
If you have any concerns about your child going into the water, or your child has particular medical concerns/requirements that we should be aware of, please provide full details on the form.
If you are able to help with supervision please complete the form below by Friday 11th February. We will contact you and let you know if you will be required for help.
