During Term 1 Room 11 were very busy with different school trips and also preparing for our school Jubilee. 

Mairangi Bay

Year 5s joined with Room 10 and went to Mairangi Bay for Beach Education.  There they learnt how to stay safe in the water and enjoyed playing games in the sea that promoted beach safety.  

Jubilee

As part of our work about our schools 60^th year celebrations the children completed Inquiry Learning about different aspects of the last 60 years.  The children came and performed in a variety of items at the Jubilee, Kapa Haka, Choir, Zumba, and Ukulele.  The children all performed fantastically and made the school extremely proud.  Children also attended Mass on Sunday with Bishop Pat and participated in this as lovely as they had at their Saturday performances. 

MERC (Marine Education Recreation Centre)

The Year 6s went to MERC at Long Bay. They were divided into four groups and completed three different activities; kayaking, abseiling and team challenges.  They had lots of fun experimenting with different activities and working together as a team.

Interschool Sports Day

Some of the class participated in the Interschool sports competition for Cricket and Softball.  All children had a great day competing against different schools and it was wonderful that our two softball teams won Best Sportsmanship for their Pools.
